Great message, wrong delivery January 3, 2009 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I confess, I normally love books of this nature. Even the hokiest one will offer a pearl or two that make it worth the price of admission. This, however, seems more about "Hey! I created a brand new buzzword and the whole world will soon be using it! Ain't I GRAND?!", than it is about a true global awakening and communication. It also reminded me of the many that have tried a universal spoken or sign language. The wonderful message of speaking 'soul to soul' is diluted by a late-night infomercial type of hype. It does indeed have a great message, and for that I give it a few stars, but I never trust anyone who has given themselves a self appointed title of 'Master'. The implication is that the rest of us are 'servants', and that is precisely the author's attitude.
A lot of self-promoting talk December 30, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The author talks about how the Divine comes to him at seminars and grants him healing powers. In addition to this, he uses many opportunities to tell you how much you're going to learn from him in the coming pages of the book. Many pages could have been eliminated by getting to the point. Perhaps I'm missing something here.
Aside from all of the self-promoting rambling the author goes so far as to tell you that there are Divine Downloads that he (gratuitously -- okay that's my description) gives to you in the pages of this book. It appears that these "Downloads" are in the form of some kind of odd chants. I got so far and had trouble continuing.
Don't get me wrong; I am an avid reader of books that could be categorized as New Age. However, I have trouble believing there is some one-size-fits-all cure for the universe. A book that was more helpful to me personally is called "The Untethered Soul". This book offered practical advice that didn't leave me feeling like I was practicing magic when I implemented it into my life.
Give this one a try if you wish. There are many people who have found this book to be helpful. I'm just not one of them.
Inspiring December 30, 2008 Review of Dr. Zhi Gang Sha's "Soul Wisdom: Practical Soul Treasures to Transform Your Life."
In this unique book Dr. Sha teaches "soul language, soul song, soul movement, soul trapping, and soul dance." These methods of instruction are designed to promote healing, rejuvenation, and life transformation.
These exercises are performed primarily through meditation, chanting, and the use of "Divine Downloads" which allow a shifting of consciousness to promote the desired effect, among other things.
Enclosed in the book is a sample gift compact disc "Soul song for Healing and Rejuvenation of Brain and Spinal Column."
Five stars for promoting peace and wellness.
Somewhat dry December 24, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I thought the book was good, just the style was a bit dry. It wasn't an easy book to read, but persistence pays off. All in all, I'm not sure its a book for everyone.
Soul Wisdom December 23, 2008 My impression of this product as a self-help book is 'average'. It is not nearly as bad as many of the reviewers herein would suggest; I have a feeling, however, that many of these are skewed by individual religious beliefs. To appreciate this book, one must approach its content from a purely scientific, i.e. psychological viewpoint. This is not and never claimed to be a religious publication, therefore I consider the claims of this as a 'cult' to be completely unfounded. However, I agree with the general consensus that this book offers nothing special, but should be regarded simply as a rough guide for developing one's own self esteem and outlook on life.
