Good information but difficult to execute step by step instructions January 6, 2009 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
This was the first book I bought after firing up my new Kindle on Christmas day but while it has a lot of good information I've found it pretty useless as a help because it's only available in the Kindle format which means you can only read it on the Kindle device.. you must memorize anything you learn before "leaving" the book and attempting to do what you just read about. You can not view the book and also play and learn on the Kindle at the same time. The author should offer a PDF version to view on a PC screen to people who have purchased the book.
** updated to add:
Evidently the author is quite upset and claims in an email to me that my review has hurt his sales. If there is a chapter as he states in his comment on printing it must be far enough in there that I never got to it before I stopped reading out of frustration.
As I stated before, it's good info but I simply could not execute it without leaving the book and therefore gave up on the book. To me it was not worth my $4.
How great would this have been if instead of this I could have updated this review to add what a helpful person the author was in providing a solution... so I could have encouraged you to buy.
Buy a Kindle and then buy this book December 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Great companion to the Kindle. Contains all the information that should have been included in the manual. If you have a Kindle, get this book!
cookbook? December 27, 2008 0 out of 6 found this review helpful
Why is this called a cookbook? I am looking into buying a Kindle, but would use it to read cookcooks-my passion. Can one do this?
Very helpful December 23, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I found this guide to be very helpful, although it's a little rough around the edges. The shortcuts and tricks really improve the Kindle experience. One thing I would recommend that I didn't see in the book is to use mobile or basic versions of websites like gmail (bookmark m.google.com and you're good to go). The manual is well laid-out. Hopefully later editions will be more expanded.
A Best Seller, kindle "how to" Version 3 (for free, if you already own prior version)!! December 22, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful

Thank you for taking the time to publish the 3rd edition of your kindle cookbook AND doing it so that folks that have already paid for your previous cookbook can get the latest version for FREE!
You are making it easy for kindle owners (both new and old) to make the most of their kindles...
Keep up the good work. Capt.D
p.s. I trust you are monitoring the discussion, "A wish list for the next kindle", as it has many ideas you might like to explore in your future editions...
